Current Research:

Since much of the collaborative research between the Chang and Lovejoy Labs is related to vision, my research will investigate visual evolution across the marine to freshwater transition, which occurred in several groups of South American fishes. Several groups have been studied by previous students, but stingrays are one group that have not yet been investigated in detail. My research will focus on the genomics of vision genes across this transition, as well as other genes of interest in this highly unique group.

I have a general interest in studying the theme of studying sensory evolution, which is present in both my MSc and PhD research.
